Wet and wild

It's been a wet spring, to say the least. The rainfall in May in these part has reached record sums. As much as I'm sick of the soggy stuff, it's given me a chance to wear my wellies all month. They are essential when the rain hits, and look awesome to boot.

Kind of blue

THE HUE FOR YOU: My favorite color combination is blue and white, and with spring clothes starting to hit the shelves, there's no better time to shop for dresses and blouses reminiscent of the California coast. What better color mix than one inspired by the ocean and the sky? And almost everyone looks great in white because it's such a complexion brightener, and it's the most versatile color to mix and match. So take a dip in the colors of nature. Fit to be knit

COZY CLOTHES: The weather is finally turning colder, which means it's time to pull out boots, sweaters and anything textured, woolly and warm. Marc Jacobs' fall 2007 collection was all about lots of layers, so don't be afraid to go for broke. Feeling fall

ALL ABOUT AUTUMN: It might still be warm out in many parts of the country, but that doesn't mean you can't get set for the colder weather by planning what to wear when it finally gets chilly. We love Old Navy's wide leg jeans this season, a flattering fit at a bargain-basement price. Pair them with a fitted blouse and a cropped or flaired jacket, and you've got an easy outfit that's comfy and cool. Dress it up with stacked Mary Janes and you're all set.
